Want free traffic? Then post on someone elses site.

29. May 2008

I know this blog is near the bottom of the Internet totem pole. I know that even if I did happen to crank out a decent post (and that is a big if..heh heh) very few people would ever see it. So what can I do about this? Well, instead of posting it here where no one will see it, I post it on a site I know gets traffic, and link back to my blog in the post.

Take a look at my Google Analytics referral stats from yesterday:

As you can see, my #1 referrer was Adobe.com. That is because I posted a couple of how-to articles on their site and included a link back to this blog. If I had posted the sme exact articles here on this blog, I wouldn't have seen any of that traffic.

My only problem now is that once people get here, the content sux , so I doubt many will be back. Next time I will try posting in pairs and see what happens. I am going to post one article on Adobe.com, and post another different/more useful, one here and see what happens.

Interesting.

But Brent, why do you think your content sux. One thing I have learnt from A - list bloggers, is that believe in yourself.

If you want to be an A-list blogger, then first of all try to believe yourself like an A-list authority blogger.

It is true that many people know more than you and their blog posts are much more interesting than you. But I have learnt, than Internet is a big community, and there is always a scope for everyone. Only thing  required is right approach.
