Just checked into my room in Council Bluffs getting ready for the Heartland Developers Conference 2007 at the Qwest Center in Omaha. It's tough because I can see all the casino's straight out my window and I'd love to go play some one dollar video poker - I usually do pretty well on those machines. I can't though 'cause I gotta get up pretty early.
This trip has been strangely funny so far. On the way up my boss and I were trying to figure out where we should eat. I suggested Braeda but I couldn't remember where they are in Lincoln so I called my sister..and we ended up eating with her and her friend at the Watering Hole downtown on O Street. It was a HOLE alright. There was a band-aid and gum stuck on the wall next to me, and a dirty napkin on the arcade game across from me! LMAO! Then there was pre-party at the Qwest so we stopped to check that out. It was about like you would imagine - a bunch of male programmers talking about Star Wars and trying to hack the network - just kidding. It was lame though.
Tomorrow I am eating breakfast at the Qwest and Ron Jacobs is giving the opening Keynote: "The Perfect Pattern Storm, where TDD meets UX and MVP". Don't ask me either 'cause I have no clue what that means! The session I am most excited about tomoroow is one by David Silverlight (Silverlight's nameake) giving a real world intro to Micrsoft's Silverlight.
I' probably make another post tomorrow sometime summarizing the events of the day, even though no one really gives a rats ass!!
