Yes that's a great tool for keyword targeting, but I like the adwords keyword tool better.

Good tool, but I agree with Jimmy, still like the AdWords keyword tool better.

Another great tool from Google. I wonder why the release of such tools are not advertised properly. Like other tools, this can be useful for planning both pay per click as well organic campaigns. I personally only focus on organic search engine optimisation but I find these tools very insightful nevertheless.

I think adwords keyword is better than that.

I came across that tool the other day as well but strangely, like you, have hardly seen it mentioned anywhere. It looks to be very useful though - similar to the AdWords Keyword Tool but with the results automatically tailored to your website.

I'd read about it but I have not used it.  I usually use the keyword tool built into adwords. I'm going to need to experiment with it.

I do like the keyword tool by Google, but have to agree that AdWords seems better. Or it may just be I'm more used to it.

Thanks, interesting tool, although I get little or no suggestions for my domains.

In case anyone's interested, suggested keyword for http://www.brentlamborn.com is "email scraping" with $1.91 bid Smile

Very useful. Thanks.

I have been using the adwords keyword tool extensively for domain name selection as well as url slugs and keyword content but when I do a show hide columns to get the estimated CPC, it often crashes firefox !

This one is very fast so now I will use tools together. Thanks.

"KEYWORD TOOL" IS THE BACK-BONE TO SEARCH ANYTHING ON THE SITE,IF GOOGLE MAKES THIS ONE,THENIT'S DEFINATELY OSAUM!
3/29/2009 10:34:49 AM #
The new search-based keyword tool (SBKWT) is easier to use for small site owners because it offers some semantic clustering, and because it provides a traffic estimate that is scaled to the current web site.  It also does a decent job of extracting keywords from competitor sites, sort of like using SEOMOZ text extraction tool, only better.  However, the new SBKWT is not very useful if you are starting a new web site or doing extensive rebuilding.  You are better off to use Googles old Adwords external tool (adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal)  The numbers are very different because it includes all searches, not Google's estimate of what your site could compete for.
