Tomorrow is gonna be a long day. I will get up at 6 am, write code for 8 hrs, then drive to Omaha for the next NPMMO meeting, then back home to Grand Island - that's at least 385 miles. I normally drive at least 100 miles every day (I live 50 miles from my job), but tomorrow's tally will be about 4 times that number. I made a little drawin' with g-Maps and Paint.NET :
Normally I wouldn't drive to Omaha on a week night, but I haven't been to a NPMMO meeting in a while. Also, I haven't seen my friend Bin in a while either (he's a Java dev)and he lives in Omaha and will be at the meeting too. 400 miles isn't all that much, but when you throw in 8 hrs behind a computer, and the fact that I already am sick as hell of driving 100 miles to work and back every day - that's a lot of driving! Back in my Marine days, we would get what was called a "96". 96 hours of "libbo" (time of work). Back then, it was nothing to crank out 1400 miles driving non-stop from Twentynine Palms CA, to Nebraska and then back again (at total of about 2800 miles in 96 hrs!!!) Damn..I just talked myself into feeling old.
Anyway, it'll be good to meet with the NPMMO people again which always gets me fired up to work on my sites. There are some extremely well-known internet personalities in the group including Shoemoney (of course - he started the group), Brian Mark from toolbarn.com and the SEO 101 series, Throk Shrock of Next Internet Millionaire fame, and of course the hosts of this event, the guys who started Proxibid.com . It should be a good time!
