I've been a subscriber to KeyCompete for about 6 months now. I subscribe at the monthly rate of $40. KeyCompete is an awesome keyword tool - the very best I have ever come across. The tool allows you to download keywords for any domain you can think of and vice versa. For example, enter "store.apple.com" and you get a list of all the keywords KeyCompete knows the Apple Store is bidding on. On the other hand you can enter "iPhone" and you get a list of all the the domains KeyCompete has found that bid on iPhone.

KeyCompete doesn't do all the work for you. Don't just go there and download a list of keywords, upload them and start bidding. First you need to take the time to split your downloaded words into targeted ad groups, no matter which PPC engine you are promoting with.

Pick out the ones that target traffic at the END of the buying cycle. People at the end of the buying cycle have already shopped around and know which brand, model number, size, color etc  they want. So pick those, and if they aren't there, make them.

Do your research and make a list of brands, model numbers, etc and target those.  KeyCompete is good for this too. You can use it to get idea on what kinds of keywords to bid on. I like to think of it as a starting point to get me headed in the right direction. After all, my own brain is the best keyword tool.
