Happy Birthday America!

salute_flag

Happy Birthday America! I've been all around the world and there is no doubt in my mind that we live in the greatest country history has ever known. We enjoy a lifestyle better than any other nation. Even those considered to be poor here live better than most people in the world. Our nation is mighty and good. Never listen to those who trash America and try to make you believe that we are an evil, selfish nation. We spread freedom throughout the world, spilling blood not only for our own freedom, but for others  as well.

The freedom we enjoy today is thanks to the men and women of our military - the finest fighting force on earth. Men and women in our military sacrifice their time, limbs, and lives so that we can live free.  Thank you to all of you who protect our freedom! I've had the honor of defending our great nation as a US Marine myself, and I can honestly say its the thing I'm most proud of in my life. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Have a Happy Independence Day everyone!

Bye Bye Twitter

It was fun (kinda) while it lasted, but Twitter had to go. I deleted my account a couple days ago.  I realized that for me,  it was a colossal waste of time. I'd much rather work on something productive. If I need to get a hold of people that I really have something to say to, chances are, I have your email address.

I can definately see where Twitter can be a great tool for some people, it's just not for me, so bye bye Twitter. If I feel like wasting time online, then I will turn on my StumbleUpon tool bar. Laughing

The Roadmap to Success: The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch

Do you watch The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch? I do. I started watching The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch about 6 months ago. I really like the discussion on the show between Donny and his guests. Donny usually has people on his show that have become very successful with their "Big Idea", often after having started out with little or no money.

Donny and his guests usually discuss how to take an idea and turn it into a profit building machine. Even though the Web is a rare topic on the show, I think the business ideas, motivation, and mindset the show provides are well worth the time for people who are looking to make money online with their Big Idea.

Being such a fan of the show, when I saw Donny made a DVD "Roadmap To Success" I had to pick one up. The videos are really good. There are 2 DVD's in the set and they are broken down into 4 parts:

MAKING YOUR FIRST MILLION Donny teaches how to obtain the mindset, tools, and financing you need to put your business on the path to success and achieve this key milestone.

BECOMING A HOUSEHOLD NAME From building brand recognition to getting free publicity, use this episode to recognize the art of selling yourself and your business.

EXPANDING YOUR BUSINESS Unlock the secrets to growing your business beyond the first million and how to take it to the next level.

EVOLVING YOUR BUSINESS Learn how change can help grow your bottom line and the methods and skills it takes to make millions year after year.

If you are a "The Big Idea" or Donny Deutsch fan, or even if you haven't seen the show, but want to grow your Big Idea into a successful company, I highly recommend you pick up the Roadmap To Success DVD set.

Windows Live Writer

wlrI just found one of the coolest blogging tools I've seen in a long while.  The tool is Windows Live Writer. It's basically a desktop application you download, and use to create blog posts. It works with Blogger, WordPress, BlogEngine.NET (which is what I use) and a bunch more.

The tool allows you to make blog entries in all your blogs no matter what platform they run on all from your desktop. I really like what I see with Windows Live Writer.  I really like the idea of having one interface for all the blogging platforms I use. I can get used to this one post editor interface and save a ton of time switching between blogs. The interface is very similar to MS Word as well which most people are familiar with.

You can watch some how-to videos and download Windows Live Writer here.
