The Big Idea on CNBC (which is a most excellent show, btw) had Troy Dunn on tonight talking about how to raise your children to be millionaires. Troy mentioned one thing that I think is key. Money is NOT a bad thing! So many American's believe that money is evil and that people that are motivated to earn a lot of money are greedy. Not true.
But what I really want to get to is Troy's book Young Bucks: How To Raise A Future Millioniare.
You can read the first chapter here. In chapter 1 Troy writes about three harmful myths that block parents from helping their children become future millionaires:
Myth 1: A college education is the key to business success.
Myth 2: A job with a good corporation will secure your child's financial future.
Myth 3: Children should not have to "worry" about money when they're young. There's plenty of time to focus on finances when they're adults.
I just read chapter 1, then ordered a copy of the book. If you have children I think this book (at $12) is gonna be beneficial to both you and your kids.
